How to respond...
Many ESL/EFL students make similar mistakes with these commonly confused nouns. The students need to know that:

Travel is used in general terms - You have to find a balance between work and travel. It can also be used as a plural noun, as in He's off again on his travels.

Trip is often substituted for holiday/vacation as in How was your trip? It is also regularly associated with business, as in She's off on another of her business trips. It generally indicates a return journey.

Voyage is usually a long journey by boat, as in The voyage to South Africa took over six weeks. It is a notorious 'false-friend' - meaning general trip by car, train, plane, etc - for many speakers of Romance languages.

Journey is more common in British English than American English. It means the 'piece' of travel between 2 or more points, as in The journey from Moscow to Beijing took several days.
