Area Comparative adjectives (bigger than, more expensive than)
and Superlative adjectives (the biggest, the most expensive) How
to respond... In English, shorter (1 and 2-syllable) adjectives
normally end in -er or -est when being used in a comparative or
superlative form (longer, bigger, sexiest, etc ). Longer adjectives are
preceded by more and most (more expensive, the most unbelievable,
etc). The student in this example needs to know this general trend, but should
also be aware of common adjectives which do not fit the pattern. For example,
good
> better > best Bad > worse > worst
